Hello Liana,
Thank you for the feedback. Visbiome is to be taken in the morning or evening or as directed by your physician. Adjustment of the intestinal flora can take a few days or weeks; it may take up to one month for the colonization of the gut to become optimally stable. Please consult with your physician regarding specific dosing requirements. Here is a link to our recommending dosing chart: https://www.visbiome.ca/pages/product-dosing
Visbiome and VSL#3 (VSL#3 is a trademark of VSL Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) are probiotic products made by different companies. From 2002 to 2016, the VSL#3 product contained Professor Claudio De Simone’s proprietary probiotic formulation. After the inventor terminated his relationship with VSL Pharmaceuticals, he successfully argued in Federal court that VSL Pharmaceuticals had attempted to create an 'imitation” of his formulation even though they never had access to the proprietary formula. They continued to call this knock-off by its original brand name, “VSL#3®” and continued to reference the extensive clinical research on the product. During the trial, De Simone was able to prove that the defendant’s copy product was not the same as De Simone’s original invention.
Visbiome contains the original De Simone formulation probiotic and indicated to assist in the dietary management of dysbiosis associated irritable bowel syndrome and pouchitis in Canada.

Visbiome contains highly concentrated natural yogurt bacteria, some of which are grown using dairy ingredients to ensure their health and vitality. Trace levels of dairy may be present.
The lactose level in all Visbiome® products is well below the National Institutes of Health's threshold for the amount of lactose intake generally tolerable by individuals with lactose intolerance (Suchy, et al. 2010). Available evidence suggests that those with lactose intolerance can ingest at least 12g of lactose when administered as a single dose with no or minor symptoms. Taking a total of 450 Billion CFUs would result in ingesting less than 0.01 grams of lactose (approximately 1/100th of a teaspoon of milk).
Trace levels of dehydrated skim milk or milk protein may be present (casein and beta-lactoglobulin of less than 2mg/kg).
