Visbiome - Regular 2 Pack
i've been using this product every day for over 3 months. i have noticed a huge improvement. i have tried both the regular, and the unflavoured. i prefer the regular - taste and how it mixes. i find the unflavoured was very chunky and chalk like tasting.
Very good product, even though a little bit expensive.
I was on VSL#3 for a few months when I lived overseas and it worked quite well. I found on the internet that Visbiome is the same thing and ordered it to try. Firstly the packaging is great but I feel like half of the high cost went to packaging and shipping. It would be good to be able to buy it from the local pharmacy and save some costs. And save the environment as well by avoiding all the styrofoam packing!
After using it for about two weeks now, I’m still not sure whether I can say visbiome is working well or not. After the first two days of taking it, I had a lot of bowel movements, which was good as I felt it was helping get rid of stored up waste. But then I got constipated the next few days until it went back to normal. Then I had diarrhoea for two days and now kind of back to normal. I have been going on 1-2 packets/day.... 1 on days when the diarrhoea set in. Ultimately, I know it is doing something to my digestive system. But just not stabilised yet or whether it’s not right for my system.
Thank you for the feedback. Visbiome is to be taken in the morning or evening or as directed by your physician. Adjustment of the intestinal flora can take a few days or weeks; it may take up to one month for the colonization of the gut to become optimally stable. Please consult with your physician regarding specific dosing requirements. Here is a link to our recommending dosing chart: https://www.visbiome.ca/pages/product-dosing
Visbiome and VSL#3 (VSL#3 is a trademark of VSL Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) are probiotic products made by different companies. From 2002 to 2016, the VSL#3 product contained Professor Claudio De Simone’s proprietary probiotic formulation. After the inventor terminated his relationship with VSL Pharmaceuticals, he successfully argued in Federal court that VSL Pharmaceuticals had attempted to create an 'imitation” of his formulation even though they never had access to the proprietary formula. They continued to call this knock-off by its original brand name, “VSL#3®” and continued to reference the extensive clinical research on the product. During the trial, De Simone was able to prove that the defendant’s copy product was not the same as De Simone’s original invention.
Visbiome contains the original De Simone formulation probiotic and indicated to assist in the dietary management of dysbiosis associated irritable bowel syndrome and pouchitis in Canada.

Visbiome contains highly concentrated natural yogurt bacteria, some of which are grown using dairy ingredients to ensure their health and vitality. Trace levels of dairy may be present.
The lactose level in all Visbiome® products is well below the National Institutes of Health's threshold for the amount of lactose intake generally tolerable by individuals with lactose intolerance (Suchy, et al. 2010). Available evidence suggests that those with lactose intolerance can ingest at least 12g of lactose when administered as a single dose with no or minor symptoms. Taking a total of 450 Billion CFUs would result in ingesting less than 0.01 grams of lactose (approximately 1/100th of a teaspoon of milk).
Trace levels of dehydrated skim milk or milk protein may be present (casein and beta-lactoglobulin of less than 2mg/kg).
